We’re seeking an Assistant Data Specialist to support our team in developing data engineering processes and app analytics that drive Canoo, our flagship mobile app for newcomers. You’ll work with Python, SQL, and DBT to design ETL processes using public and internal data, helping inform real decisions. You’ll also assist in building documentation systems for app data, analytics products, and data projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve technical documentation for data sources and processes
- Use DBT and GitHub to create data models for statistical analysis
- Build Python scripts to extract and transform data from publicly available datasets
- Create Tableau dashboards that support decision making
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of SQL
- Experience using Python or JavaScript to work with API data
- Knowledge of applied statistics and probability
- Experience with Tableau, PowerBI, or similar tools (e.g., Matplotlib)

Role Details
- Role length: 8 weeks
- This is a short-term position. At this time, we cannot confirm or provide any assurances that a full-time role will open up after the 8 weeks
Key Eligibility Requirements
- Age: Must be between 15 and 30 years old at the beginning of the employment period
- Citizenship/Residency: Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person with officially conferred refugee protection
- Legally entitled to work: Must possess a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
- International Students: International students, including those on visitor or work visas, are not eligible
